What makes PSOL special?

$PSOL I checked the Phantom Staked SOL page in Phantom's Chrome extension (5 Oct 2026, wallet with 0 SOL that has never staked).
What I noticed:
Under a "Native Stakes" heading, the page shows "You haven't earned SOL yet" and a "Stake More" button. I've never staked, so this reads like I already have a stake that isn't earning. And PSOL is liquid staking, which Phantom's Help Center describes as different from native staking.
The ⓘ next to it says rewards are "calculated in near real-time based on the price change between SOL and PSOL". But the Help Center says PSOL rewards typically update at the start of each epoch (about 2–3 days), and earnings only appear once they exceed the 0.1% exit fee. A new staker could see "You haven't earned SOL yet" for days and think something is wrong.
Suggestion: if the wallet has no PSOL, show "Stake SOL to start earning" with a plain "Stake" button, under a "Liquid staking" label. In the tooltip, add one line: "Updates each epoch (~2–3 days). Earnings show after they pass the 0.1% exit fee."
Question: is "earned" based on PSOL's market price or on the stake pool rate? If it's market price, can it go negative when PSOL trades below its pool value?

I checked $PSOL OL in Phantom and looked through the Security section.
It shows “Mintable: Yes”, “Mutable Info: Yes” and an Update Authority address, but clicking or hovering over these indicators didn't show any explanation.
For a user who isn't familiar with Solana token authorities, it's difficult to understand what these signals actually mean or whether “Yes” is something to be concerned about.
Suggestion: add a small tooltip or expandable explanation for each security signal, explaining what Mintable, Mutable Info and Update Authority mean and what the user should check.

I compared PSOL against native staking in Phantom's docs and wallet UI. Two things stand out: rewards accrue from three sources (staking, MEV tips, and priority fees), and each PSOL grows in SOL value over time instead of your balance increasing. One gap: the fee structure (4% protocol fee on staking rewards, 0.1% exit fee on unstake or swap) lives in the help center, not in the earn panel. Showing the fee breakdown inside the PSOL position page would save new users a doc dive. My question: with liquid staking the pool manages validator choice, unlike native staking where I pick my own. Is there a way to see which validators back $PSOL and how the pool rotates them?

$PSOL Today I spent more time finding Phantom’s browser than connecting my wallet.
I already had Phantom installed on my iPhone. When I tried connecting from TokenGems on my computer, I ended up on the Chrome extension page. So I switched to the phone, opened Phantom and started looking for a browser tab, a globe icon, or anything that suggested I could open a website.
I couldn’t find it.
Only after checking the instructions did I understand that Explore/search is also the browser and accepts website addresses. Once I pasted tokengems.ai there, the actual connection was quick and painless.
This is probably obvious to an experienced Phantom user, but it wasn’t obvious to me as someone setting it up for the first time. Nothing was technically broken; I simply had no idea where to enter the URL.
Even a small wording change such as “Search tokens, apps, or paste a URL” would have helped. A visible “Open website” shortcut would be clearer still. An iOS “Open in Phantom” share action could also prevent users from being sent to an extension installation page when the mobile wallet is already installed.
I’m posting this under $PSOL because it’s the Phantom-related Solana page available on TokenGems. This is feedback about the mobile wallet experience, not PSOL’s price. I only tested the connection and did not deposit, trade, or make a transaction.
Frequently asked questions
What is Phantom Staked SOL?
Phantom Staked SOL (PSOL) is a liquid staking token on the Solana blockchain. It represents SOL that has been staked through the Phantom wallet's staking service, allowing holders to earn staking rewards while their SOL remains liquid for use in other DeFi applications. PSOL earns yield from staked SOL, including a portion of MEV tips and priority fees. A 4% validator commission is applied to inflation rewards; MEV and priority fees are not subject to this commission. The stake is delegated to a single validator (34kE8AGJazhgrsovREiB2Uru1CuhN4gCznNAmVUxB9AB). Instant unstaking is available, with the amount dependent on liquidity in the reserve pool, and may incur an exit fee.
