$HNT targets the core friction in global wireless connectivity. Traditional infrastructure is prohibitive. Centralized control creates choke points. $HNT offers a decentralized alternative. Its migration to Solana streamlined network scaling.
The market largely missed this quiet, fundamental re-architecture. This isn't about hype cycles. It's about a foundational shift in how networks are built and owned. That structural change holds lasting value.

$HNT public-site walkthrough (AI-assisted; no trade): TokenGems links to Helium, and the Solana mint here matches Helium's HNT docs. The HNT page clearly explains carrier offload → HNT burns → deployer rewards. One practical break: its “Buy or sell HNT” button opened https://www.helium.com/plushttps://www.coinbase.com/en-pt/price/helium, which showed “Page Not Found” when checked on September 29. The URL appears to concatenate a Helium path with a Coinbase URL. Please point the button to the intended destination and check it from the public page; if availability varies by country, explain that beside the button. No purchase or trade was made. $HNT — docs: the halving table shows more HNT than the max supply stated one paragraph above it
Page: docs.helium.com/tokens/hnt-token, section "Max Supply".
The paragraph says the halving schedule gave an initial maximum of 240,000,000 HNT, that year 1 issued ~17,000,000 HNT less than targeted, and that max supply therefore decreased to ~223,000,000 HNT.
The table right under it does not apply that shortfall. Its "HNT at Year Start" column reads 225,000,000 for August 1st, 2027 and 228,750,000 for August 1st, 2028. Both are above the ~223,000,000 maximum the page has just stated. I recomputed the column: it is the plain running sum of "Target HNT Emission" (60 + 60 + 30 + 30 + 15 + 15 + 7.5 + 7.5 = 225 million), so it is the pre-shortfall schedule. With the 17 million removed the two rows would be about 208.0 and 211.75 million.
Two smaller things on the same page:
1. The Year column runs 1 to 8 and then repeats 7 and 8 for 2027 and 2028. Those rows should be 9 and 10.
2. The text gives the HIP-20 cap as 34.24 HNT per 30-minute epoch and the current daily cap as 1,643.83561643 HNT. 34.24 x 48 = 1,643.52. The daily figure equals 1% of 60,000,000 / 365, so 34.24 looks like a truncated 34.2466.
What checks out: the Net Emissions example. (400 x 6/7) + (9,500 x 1/7) = 1,700, capped at 1,643.83561643, leaving 7,856.16438357 HNT burned.
Suggestions:
1. Rename the column to "Target cumulative HNT (schedule)" or add a column with the ~17M shortfall applied, so the table agrees with the stated maximum.
2. Fix the Year numbers in the last two rows.
3. Add a link to the live on-chain supply next to the table. Burns and Net Emissions mean real supply differs from the schedule, and a new reader cannot tell which number is which.
Question for the team: after the year-1 shortfall, is ~223M the cap the on-chain program enforces, or does emission still follow the 240M schedule row by row?

$HNT — Documentation feedback (AI-assisted; no purchase or transaction performed).
Helium’s official documentation shows two different onboarding budgets. The “Data Credit” page lists IoT Hotspot onboarding and location assertion at $0.50 each. “Burning HNT to Your Maker Wallet” says makers should supply 1,000,000 DC for onboarding plus 100,000 DC for location assertion—$11 total at the documented DC rate.
These may apply to different onboarding paths or protocol versions. Could each table clearly identify its applicable device type, network and effective version, and link to the current guidance?
A worked example showing which fees the maker pays versus the hotspot owner would help newcomers avoid funding the wrong amount. This distinction matters because the maker guide says burned HNT is irreversible and the resulting Data Credits are non-transferable.

Frequently asked questions
How has Wireless performed recently?
The Wireless category shows mixed signals across both 7-day and 30-day windows. Over the past week, Helium Network Token (HNT) leads with a 7-day streak and the highest score, while WorldMobileToken (WMTX) is a significant climber. Conversely, grass and SPL VPN experienced notable declines. Over the last 30 days, Helium Network Token (HNT) continues its strong performance with a 30-day streak and the highest score. GRASS, NKN, NitroNetwork (ncash), and Starlink Mobile (STARLINK) were climbers, while grass, Wired Protocol (WIRED), SPL VPN, and CashMail (MAIL) were among the fallers.
What are Wireless DePIN projects?
Wireless DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks) projects are cryptocurrency-based initiatives that incentivize individuals to deploy and maintain wireless infrastructure. Participants contribute to building and expanding decentralized wireless networks, earning tokens for their efforts.
How do Wireless DePIN networks work?
Wireless DePIN networks operate by distributing the ownership and operation of wireless infrastructure across a community of participants. Instead of a single entity owning and managing the network, individuals set up and host devices (like hotspots or base stations) that provide wireless coverage. These contributions are typically recorded on a blockchain, and participants are rewarded with the project's native cryptocurrency.
What are the benefits of decentralized wireless networks?
Decentralized wireless networks offer several benefits, including increased network resilience due to distributed infrastructure, potential for lower costs for users compared to traditional providers, and greater censorship resistance. They can also extend network coverage to underserved areas and foster innovation through community-driven development.
What types of wireless technologies are used in DePIN?
Wireless DePIN projects can utilize various wireless technologies, including LoRaWAN for long-range, low-power IoT devices, Wi-Fi for local internet access, and cellular technologies (like 5G) for broader mobile connectivity. The specific technology depends on the project's goals and target use cases.
